Process:Going to the zoo, I was not intending to take as many pictures as I did. But, seeing how the animals within the zoo interact with each other is sweet. Zoos are very sad but, seeing the animals within the enclosures being with one another is a very good sight to see.
Choosing the picture I wanted were the onces I seen the most connection between the animals. Like the peacock pictures show a connection in the picture but, the seals showed a lot of love towards each other while I was watching them. I did not do much editing to these pictures. I upped the contrast in all of them which, I do to almost all of my photography and rasie some saturation. |
I grew up constantly going to the Milwaukee county zoo. The zoo is one of my favorite places to go. The animals are so beautiful. I have tried to take pictures of the animals before but, they usually came out blurry or I just get so into being there that I forget to take pictures at all.
In this shoot, I wanted to show the connections the animals have inside the enclosure. |
Artist Inspiration:
Reflection:
Zoos are very sad places but, these pictures show the connections the animals within the zoos have. I think these are successful pictures. The giraffes were difficult to photograph because there are fences around there exibit. The seals weren't as difficult but, because I'm short I had to stand on a fence to get a better shot. Then flamingos were very easy to photograph and the were actual very close to me. This photos were a success.
ACT Questions:
- Clearly explain how you are able to identify the cause-effect relationships between your inspiration and its effect on your art work.
John Shaw shows love and connections of animials in there enviroment. That is a very positive outlook and I wanted to bring that into my pictures. Even though, the animals I photographed are not wild and do not have free lives.
- What is the overall approach the author has reguarding the topic of your research?
- What kind of generalizations and conclusions have you discovered about people, ideas, cultures, while you research your inspiration?
An idea to take from this piece is that in the worst situation you can find good things to make life better. I research some aspects of zoo environments.
- What was the centeral idea or theme around your inspirational work?
A theme is comfort. Finding things to comfort you to make life better or easy for yourself if something bad is happening.
